Jason Akemanis speaks about gay outting

There has been a lot of discussion recently about a recent article published in 'The Age' about homosexual players in the AFL (Australian Football League). Jason Akermanis faces the Western Bulldogs to decide whether or not he will give up football or his media career. Now, the word is that he makes a lot of money playing footy, but more in his media life. But is this fair play?
I actually took the effort to find the article and had a read of his thoughts. Quite frankly, I don't see what the problem is. It is sound advice for homosexual members of the football teams. Now, whether or not a gay footballer outing himself will make a team fall apart is true or not, I cannot comment, I can certainly say that Jason is right in saying that we are far from ready to accept homosexual players in the AFL. There are two reasons.

1) The fans. There could be a lot of preasure from fans of the game against the player, and the player will find himself the target of bullying, assults (possibly) and the guilt of what might become of the fan basis. Fans might jump ship or preasure the club to get rid of the player.
2) The players. Jason was right in saying that knowing of a homosexual member of the team can make the standards of lockerroom nudity a very uncomfortable issue. Even if it is made clear by that player he has no sexual interest in them, I can't see them being comfortable around this person. Now, please put it into context. Consider the sex you are not attracted to, know that they might or might not be attracted to you, and having to be naked around them. That instant state of discomfort you are feeling is what would spread like wildfire.

Now Jason discusses in the article about lockerroom nudity when he was in the younger level of players. While he felt uncomfortable with this person in the showers, he was more than ready to sit and discuss sexuality with him, along with the problems the activists communitty are up against and the ideas he has for the future. Jason, by definition is not homophobic, just displaying the same point we all feel about nudity and sexuality.
Kicking up a stink about this point of view is rather unfortunate. I do admit some lines in his article are somewhat ill-advised and not properly thought out, but there is a point. The gay communitty, if they are the ones who started this stink, they had better be sure to think before opening their mouths. The heterosexual communitty, for their half, had better be thankful that Jason has at least taken the innitiative and put some context into this field. The article doesn't bag homosexuals, but advises that it is not a good time to come out. But advice is not the basis of life, and players can make up their own minds. Whatever they choose, I hope they are prepared for the consiquences either way.
If you want to bag Jason, be my guest, but make sure that you are doing so on a proper basis and not on a 'fly-off-the-handle' attack because of the stand he is taking. There will be a time when an AFL player can come out with minimal fuss, but today is, sadly, not that day. I also hope that, in the future, Jason can show his support for the homosexual communitty and back up some of the things he has said. If he wants to help AFL players come out in the future, as suggested, I hope he can back up his words. Ciao,
Perry!

Hell No: Justice for the Juvenile

Okay, not only does this make me sad, but it is absolute proof that our justice system is not as foolproof as we think. In my next new segment here, we are going to do "HELL NO!" Where jsutice seems to have failed, not done it's job or even left a mark at the end of the day.
Five years ago, three boys went on a killing spree. One bashed and killed a friend who had taken him in for shelter/a visit (not stated clearly) while another was bashed and killed in the garge. As the night went on, another was bashed and killed, wittnesses were bullied and tourmented with what would be their fate, and a single mother was raped while her young child was in the next room.
When the police was put onto these three killers, there was a chase, where the killers threw furniture at them, before being cornered and arrseted. Two of the killers have been arrested and jailed for life for triple homocide and rape. However, the last killer will be set free on Monday. He claimed that he only partisipated to save his life, and was sentanced to do 10 years in juvinille detention. He has only had to serve five. He walks out on Monday, legally protected from having his identity revealed, no mark on his record, a clean slate and we don't even get a heads up on where he is going to be located, if not in his home town.
I can't believe that this kid, whether or not he did the killings out of self-protection or vandiction, murder is murder. No amount of appologising or begging will bring that person back. I wonder if WT (news name for the soon to be freed) has any remorse for the families of the people who were killed. Their children, who barely had a chance to live their lives, aren't coming home. I could feel their pain so much that I've actually had to take some time between sections of this blog to control my emotions.
Dear Human Justice,
The person being released from juvenile detention has served nothing for what he has done. What possessed you to sentence him to ten years and only let him serve five? I gather that Juvenile detention is not a fun place to be, but since he has become an adult, doesn't he deserve to go to prison to serve the last of his sentence? has he shown true remorse for his crime? Has he been punished enough? Have the families of three teenagers, killed for no reason, suffered so little? Perhaps you wouldn't feel so happy on letting them go if you lost your kids to a pointless murder.
Following your weakened service of justice for a murder, you are releasing this person unamed to society with a clean record. Should he reoffend and commit murder again, there is no record of his previous killings will not be held against him and he will get another reduced sentence. Knowing his luck thus far, he will probably get another reduced sentence, out early again, and his record me remain untarnished. You cannot be doing this seriously? And what sort of message does this send to other young children? That they can get away with whatever they want because they know the courts will go easy on them? While kids probably need a boot up the bum and some serious lessons in how life works, you need some serious lessons on when to and when not to hold back on the cane. Sparing the rod and spoiling the child is what creates this outburst of juvenile misbehaviour, because they know they are not going to be punished as badly. Don't shift the blame until you have fully assessed your own doings.
Along with this poor miscarriage of justice comes a major let down for the families of these victims. I could hardly stand watching the Mother's of these kids sit there and cry while they talked about the fact that they were never going to see their children again, never share another hug, another simple chat over how their days were or watch as their child graduates school and goes on to do whatever it is they dreamed. All that cut short and you let, albeit the minor, offender go free without a perminent mark outside of his mind. I wonder how you would feel if that were to happen to you? Would you feel any different if your partneer, child, best friend or anyone close to you was killed for no reason other than a bit of fun, and you discovered that justice was carried incorrectly? How would you honestly feel? It is time that you re-wrote your laws to be more harsh. While I do not suggest the death penalty, because that is too good for osme of them, I highly recomend heavier sentances for juvenile cases where they are going to learn a lesson.
In conclussion, you have failed to deliver any great amount of hope to the parents of this world, and have set a potential danger into our streets who is just ready for taking another life if he so feels. You have failed to keep in line the problems you otherwise would complain about. Straighten yourself up before your blame moves to parents, video games or anything else. The paddle is there to be used, so belt this kids into line. Yours,
Shikiblade the Unimpressed

Movie Review 27.May & Top Movies

This weeks mocies

Title: Mrs.Doubtfire
Starring: Robin Williams, Sally Field, Pierce Brosnan
Rating: 4 Drag Queens
Review: Some people say that you shouldn’t rewatch movies you’ve seen before (like Mum keeps saying) but I find watching movies I have seen, but not in years, a good middle-point. I first saw this film in 2002, and caught the end of it on TV a few years back.
The story in itself is rather cute in Daniel’s (Robin Williams) desperation. Not being a father, I can only guess at the emotions he might be going through. But even this film takes it to a whole new level. Very few people could actually take the situation as far as this movie does. But when you’re scripted, I guess you can’t use reality. But on the other hand, I guess that if you are that mad about your kids, you’d try to slip something past.
This movie lost and gained a point again because of it’s movements towards homosexuality, transvestites and transexuals. A point was removed because the judge thought Daniel’s character mentally insane because of what he does throughout the movie. There was quite a good admission that he wasn’t doing it for any other reason, and is made clear throughout the whole film. The judge still ruled against him, and I thought that was a bit biast. But the point was returned because of the explaining of Daniel’s brother (Frank) and his boyfriend Jack, otherwise explained to the kids as Uncle Frank and Aunt Jack. I thought that is one way to go about it until they are old enough to get it. Not my approach, but close enough.
I had to take half a point off because, as is inevitable in these sorts of films, there is one point where you can see it is going to go badly and end poorly, and the main character (in this case Daniel) is blind to the destruction ahead, whether they cause it or not. These scenes are like train wrecks, you want to look away but you can’t. All you can do is sit there and moan ‘oh no!’ to try and keep yourself from yelling at the tv, telling the actor what’s ahead.
I took another half point off because there were a few points where you had to wonder why Miranda (Sally Field) doesn’t see that her now ex husband is Mrs.Doubtfire. There are a few times Mrs.Doubtfire looks very sheepish and you have to wonder why she is so oblivious? But it only happens once or twice, so I didn’t get too heavy-handed on the deductions.
The best part of this film is that it is not a happy ending, it is a compromise of an ending. And it does pass on some understanding to younger watchers about divorce and what that might be for some people, which I thought was a touching idea. All in all, Mrs.Doubtfire will definately find it’s way onto my DVD shelf and be a good DVD for a cold night in.

Title: Monty Python – The Life of Bryan
Starring: Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle
Rating: 2 1/2 crusafictions
Review: A Monty Python film, to which plot is minor but still present, to which running jokes are a mass and things are hardly ever what they seem. However, considering I have seen two other Monty Python movies, you’d think I’d know what I was getting myself into. However, I have a difficulty with Monty Python films with their lack of continuity and that you need to be really focused to keep up with the plot.
The story sounded amusing enough, in that Brian is born at exactly the same time as Jesus, and their lives seem to run paralell from start to finish. From the gifts of the Wise Men through to the crusifiction, Brian discovers he lives the more realistic life of Jesus Christ. While being followed by a bunch of people who think he is the Masire to simply trying to live his life with his otherwise bizare mother, Brian can’t find any peace.
In itself, there were a few good jokes, scenes and I finally discovered which film had ‘Bright Side of Life’ in it... now I can’t get it out of my head. Continuing, there were some rather amusing points in the film, but like always, I had a hard time following it. -1 for that.
Despite the need to pay attention to keep up with the plot, I did however find a few minor errors, to my delight at the end of the day. One scene depicts Brian naked while suddenly discovering he is standing in front of a mass crowd. We’ve all had that dream, Brian just had to live with it’s reality. You also have the pleasure of finding out he isn’t jewish... if you know what I mean. But he is not the masire, he’s just a naughty boy. I couldn’t agree more.
I also took points off for the number of times the jokes seem to rely on selective hearing. That rather annoyed me because I was hoping for something a little more... I dunno, fresh, after a while.
Concluding, Monty Python’s The Life Of Brian won’t be appearing on my DVD shelf, simply because it isn’t something I’d enjoy watching again and again. I’ll just keep some of the more amusing scenes in my mind and leave the rest to you.

Title: The Dark Crystal
Starring: Stephen Carlick, Lisa Maxwell, Billie Whitelaw, Percy Edwards
Rating: 3 Crystal Shards
Review: If there is one thing I can’t really stand, it is a vague hero, who has no real idea on what they are doing and when they should be doing it, and rather than completing one’s destiny when the opportunity is right, they decide to dawddle and go the hard way. I realise this leaves little climax, but for God’s sake, use your brain.
Jera is not one of the heroes you will find written about in Greek Mythology, but more from the same shelf as the Cowardly Lion. Kira, in turn, is from the shelf of animated rules, where everything she needs is on hand, all she has to do is call for it or place her hand out of screen. -1 for that, it wasn’t impressive.
I understand the idea of this film, and the making of it in turn was probably aimed at a lower age group than myself, and I have to admit that this story didn’t really thrill me. The peaceful Mystics who seem to do nothing but walk and sing, and the evil skekses who are so self-obssessed that they would probably wipe themselves out, given the chance. The other races of beings who are above animal intellignece have no survival instincts, and while Jera is “suppossed” to be the only Gelf left, he is the hero, so he has to have a girl at the end. Hence, he isn’t really the only Gelf left, just one of. -1 for that too. The detail of each creature was not well explained but you are still expected to keep up.
The best character in the whole folm was Orga, who has one of those weird temporaments that you really can’t tell if she is happy, angry, curious or dissatisfied. But some of her lines are highly amusing, and the one mood you can read clearly form her is when she is being threatening and intimidating. Frankly, she makes me laugh.
A DVD for my shelves? No thanks, I find it too simplistic for my taste, and too much just fell into place without much explanation. When you can explain things falling into place, then I can live with that, but this movie didn’t. I can think of a few good things about this movie, but there aren’t a lot.

Title: Shortbus
Starring: Sook-Yin Lee, Paul Dawson, Lindsay Beamish, PJ DeBoy, Raphael Barker
Rating: 4 vibrating eggs
Review: Jesus Christ with cheese! I don’t know who left me the idea of watching this film in a comment on one of my other movie reviews, but it has been by far the most raunchy and sexually explicit film I have seen in a long time. Rated R, it is certainly not for kids.
This movie follows people who move in very different circles, both sexually and socially, and how they all meet and are able to help each other. There is the married sex therapist who ahs never had a proper orgasm in her life, the gay couple that are having issues on communication because one is crushing and one is suicidal, the dominatrix with no self-confidence, and so on. As these people meet, talk and seperate at an omnisexual club called Shortbus, they sexually explore with others to try and find what they want. Around and around the people go through different emotions, plans and ideals until such a point as they will brake down and need to rebuild again.
The best scene was with the sex theropist and her husband at Shortbus. She puts a vibrating egg up her twat so if he wants to talk to her or communicate with her, he just needs to set it off. But while she is trying to work with her issues, the egg keeps going off, but only because he is leaning on it. It ends up in a drunk mans hands and he keeps pressing the buttons thinking it is a remote, while Sofia the therapist (Sook-Yin Lee) is trying to stop a fight. But with the press of a button, she accidently punches someone out.
I know it is how a movie is supposed to work, but I took away a pint because everyone seems to meet one another at the precise moment they need to meet each other. Disappointing, cliche and typical. And I didn’t take points off because I was watching lesbian sex, heterosexual sex or female masturbation. Nor did the removed points get added on for the many gay sex scenes. Yes, a lot of cock and pussy is shown, but the one character who was cutest of all doesn’t show off his personals like everyone else, which was rather annoying. Well, I might have to go back over the scenes he is in and double check.
Back on topic, the movie is actually a good mix between a porn film and a slap in the face with the cold wet flounder that is reality. It demonstrates that, even the most normal or perfect of couples aren’t as normal or perfect as they seem. That every relationship has its issues, that there is tension in one way or another and that it may (not suggesting) take an unconventional method to sort them out. Now while this movie certainly suggests that you could find your bliss through multiple partneers, sex therepy with a next to complete stranger and introducing a third party to the relationship to bring about happiness (for you or your partneer), it is an over-the-top way of saying that there is more than one way to fix things.
Yes, this film will certainly find its way to my shelf, more because of the reminder of life I sometimes need that, even though I am not in a relationship, there is certainly worse things going on in the world between people, and I don’t need to go to a gay bar to hear about them.

Now, this week’s list was supposed to include Die Hard 2 (Die Harder) and Die hard With a Vengence (Die Hard 3) but the discs are so scratched that none of my players could read them. I guess the DVD shop owes me one.

Top Ten Hot Men Search

Yes, I know I have been keeping this topic a little quiet since I started it back in Feb, but I have had two more enteries. I'm trying really hard to avoid going all out on television celebrities, but it really doesn't leave you a lot of choice when it comes to listing people you might know. So I thought this had better be the top 10 celebrities I think are hot and definately dateable. No, the list is not finished, but at least I am over the halfway mark with six. I haven't included pictures yet, but if there is a Wikipedia reference (or any reference), it has been added as a link below. The interesting things about three of them is that they are single with no marriage history (as far as I can find). But I'll let you work out which is which. So in no particular order, here we go...

1) Johnny Galecki is a newer addition. Despite his cuteness in 'The Big Bang Theory', you will find the photo on the link absolutely delicious... and his shirt isn't even off. It is scary ro think he has been acting for almost as long as I have been alive (first appearence 1987). His profile is standard here, but have a read if you're interested.

2) Oded Fehr with seperate image first came to my attention in The Mummy, but his hotness wasn't drawn to me until Resident Evil Appocolypse and Charmed season 7. With a twisted little smile and a broad acting range, I really enjoy Oded as an actor and eye candy.

3) Grant Bowler with seperate image first came to my attention as the somewhat smart-arsed hoast of Australia's 'The Mole' and later as he played a role in 'Always Greener,' where his cuteness really caught my attention. When collecting Blue Heelers, I discovered he was apart of the original cast, and I grew continuously envious of the many girls his kissed. But out of all the actors listed here, he is one of two that I have seen almost fully naked. Henceforth, the shirtless image.

4) Damien Walshe-Howling with seperate image has had three major points in his acting life, two of which I enjoyed. His younger acting role in Blue Heelers is where he first got my attention, because when that was filmed he was young, spunky and (his character at least) was cheeky. He then went and did 'Underbelly' which didn't get my interest in the least. But he now hoasts 'Boarder Security', and I don't know if I am imagining it, but whenever he talks about more... personal things that airport security might do, does he seem somewhat flirty or excited about it? I don't know, but either then or now, he is still majorly hot to trot.

5) Sean Murray is the American/Australian actor who has a long list of acting parts. The first time I saw Sean Murray was in 'Hocus Pocus' but his part in the film required little physical acting and more voice-over. When he joined the NCIS team, I felt sorry gor his character, and his well portrayed acting gave me an attraction to him. From what I've learned, he is somewhat close to his character, minues the whimpiness that he sometimes portrays, so he would be a nice match for me.

6) George Calombaris with seperate image is the only man here listed that is not a professional actor, and physically, is not totally the same physically, and has a long and proud history within the worlds kitchen here in Australia. He studied at the TAFE I am about to attend and has opened a number of restuarants here in Melbourne and one in Greece, and is a judge and instructor on 'Australian Master Chef.' While I haven't been able to discover a lot about him as a person (except that he has a love for all sorts of food that aren't spicy) he is certainly, hpysically and academically, my type of man.

Well, I need another four and I am searching, but it is really hard to dance around actors, as I said. But I know I will find some more people tro add to the list. And if I can get them all together in one place, dress them appropriately and convince them of the one sexuality (mine) we can reinact today's image, now the main image in the search for my ten top men. Have fun,
Pez!

Five things to do today

No, today's entry is not a list of things that I am endevouring to do, but a list of things that people around me are doing that is driving me slowly and surely insane. And while I'm not saying there isn't anything I can do about it, I am saying that it is happening so often i am beginning to feel left out. here we go!

1) Getting married
Yes, it is always great when people get married because you know they really do love each other and that they want to spend the rest of their lives together. Mum got married at the start of the year, a friend got married Saturday of alst week and i was at an engagement party last night. I am also hearing of a lot of my other friends getting engaged or married around me, and I am starting to get a little jelous. I can't really be angry at them, because I am happy for them and I wish them everything that is beautiful in a relationship and marriage, but what I'm wanting is the right to get married and have, legally, what they have. i can get unofficial documents to say that I am married, but it is still challengable in court.
Now, with my friend's wedding alst week, it was oringinally going to be an engagement party, and i thought I'd be at the wedding because I went to the melbourne rally for equal love. When i learned it was turned into a wedding, i was a little disappointed and feeling a little guilty. But then it became a tough pull between my loyalty to my friends and my loyalty to my people. If I knew it was going to become a wedding, i would have gone, but no one told me jack so i didn't.
Following on, 2009-11 seems to be the time to get married or announce your engagement. Just be nice about it.

2) Getting into or out of a relationship
Not having a lot of experience in the field of having and maintaining a relationship, and only having one longstanding relationship to reflect on, I often wonder what it would be like to be one of these people to jump from relationship to relationship without much time in between (or at least what seems like no time). While I know how damaging this can be to the heart and it's energies, not to mention one's emotions, I know it might be better to remain single. But it has been three years since i broke up with my ex, and I still have no great potentials in sight. One potential is coming up in the last few months of this year, but he has been labelled with a big red sticker saying 'BAD IDEA!'
And if people aren't getting into relationships, they are falling out and by odds are coming to me to help heal the wounds. While I am not going to turn these people away, I am certainly trying to work this out from a fair standpoint, considering my lack of experience in the field. But I still do my best to work out a compromise and have the person/s feeling better.
And lastly, people in relationships are coming to me asking for advice on how to keep their relationship stable. I guess that is fair, but God it is almost as tough as trying to keep some peace between a falling apart relationship or seperates. it is also difficult to warch when one of the two people from a relationship asks your advice and then does the complete opposite. That was a cause for frequent headdesking. I had a tough call that night, and I couldn't really bring myself to say it.
This is becoming irritating because I'd like to be in a relationship for a change. For people to be happy for me on that fornt. I enjoy watching others in love, watching movies where the couple comes out the other side alright and get married yada yada yada. I even enjoy watching a show like Medium to imagine what it would be like to have a family. I know I am only 24 and that I have a long life ahead of me, but at the same time, I am not feeling the need to be a footloose and fancyfree single man searching soley for sex. Not my life nor my emotional level. maybe I ahould take up drinking (lightly) so I can be a little ore lose and therefore approachable or (in other people's opinion) fun. I might get further that way.

3) babies
God, it is like an invasion out there! Friends are pregnant, having babies, or bringing their babies with them to wherever I happen to be. Congratulations to everyone who has had, going to have a child, it is a wonderful thing. I just want some time out from babies. especially after looking after a friend through all of 2008 who was pregnant. That game was enough to drive me over the edge.
last night at a friends party, i got to hold a little baby who couldn't have been that old. And I went absolutely clucky. I love hugging babies. Taking care of them is a different matter, but that isn't my responsability at the moment. I guess being a worshiper of isis, a great Mother goddess is going to bring babies into my life. So each of them i bless in the name if isis and give them protection. Following that, I know I want to be a Father one day, and that my horoscope suggests I'd be a really good father. Role models haven't been the best in my life, so I'll have to start from scratch, but that is a loooooooooong way off.
Babies, darlings, i love you all, just some breathing room, born or not.

4) Ruling my life
One thing I have had for a lot of my life is decisssions made for me. Even though a teenager thinks s/he should make all the decissions and no one else gets it, i still feel like there were times I wasn't just held down but crammed. And even with going off to TAFE, leading my life, people, and not always parent/authority figures, seem to get it into their heads that my life has no direction and that their way must therefore be the right way for me. Two words; FUCK OFF! After working to the level of independance I have earned for myself, do i look like I need lifestyle and career choice guidence? if I do, I will ask the people who have A VERY GOOD IDEA of what I am capable of and what my life circumstances are.
Whenever someone says 'Do you want my opinion?' you can be sure it is a bad one. And i think people have worked out that I have worked this out, so they just skip the middle man and go straight to giving me their opinion. Now opinions don't bother me, because they are not based in fact but view points. What bothers me is when people don't seem to understand that I know what they think and that I am just tired of hearing it. I know people should think I should go into stage productions, I know that people think I should take my singing more seriously (see point five) and that I should be doing something with my life. I'd like to point out that these things are happening, that I have made a plan and that it is coming to fruition, and that if they were just patient then they would discover that I am on the edge of going back to TAFE, getting some volunteer work, improving my singing, my physical fittness and making an improvement. But no, people still seem to think that I have nothing to show for all that I have been doing. Just because I don't say it doesn't mean that there is nothing there. What is there is not a lot to show, so I just want it made clear that you need to wait. When July comes around, I will be as busy as a beaver and have lots to fill in my time. Get it? Got it? good!

5) My singing
people who have known me a long time know that I love singing, and that they also know that I have come a long way. back when i started doing karaoke, I couldn't sing to the keys in my pocket and I made a very odd noise. Over time, in listening to myself, working out how things should sound, and a number of singing lessons, I have come to a point where I am going to achieve my goals soon.
What is pissing me off more than anything is people misunderstanding my position and views on singing, so i will explain it here and now so that there are no more misconseptions of what it is that I am aiming at and doing.
Singing for me is a form of entertainment, but also something that can reflect every aspect of human emotio, second only to the human themselves. So in effect there are two sides to my singing that people seem to enjoy equally. One side is the side of me that is all fun, all dance, lots of gloss and glam to make a stage show worth watching. These performances come out in things like 'All That Jazz,' 'Circus', 'Walk like an Egyptian' and other songs like that. However, my more serious singing side has a large range of songs as well, such as 'Diamonds Are forever', 'Viva Fporever', 'poison ivy' and 'Kiss From a Rose'. these are songs i spent a lot of time learning, practicing and perfecting, so that when I perform them, people stop and look not because I am being wild but because I am calling out of them an emotion or experience that can be reflected in the story the song presents. Like 'Viva Forever' which is honestly one of the better Spice girls songs, I sang after the deaths of my grandparents who have past away over the last number of years. Each time I sang it, I called upon the memory if spending time with them, how much I miss them and that we will see each other again on the other side, and the true emotion that I express in just singing the song, let alone what I am feeling, is something that many people have commented on often and that it made the song feel more alive and more heartfelt. Does that sound like I am being frivelous with my singing? yes, i spend a lot of time working out coriographies for my wilder dance songs, but at the end of the day, they won't stay on my list, or will ony be dug up once in a blue moon to be sung because someone requested either the artist or the song. Whoop-dee-doo! But my more serious songs, while less called upon, are enjoied a lot more when I do them.

Right, I have ranted enough. But these are the five things people seem to be doing these days. A lot of it is great, just irritating, other aspects are just downright rude. Work out which is which, you have a brain.
Now, I am going to go back to my life and work on some of the ongoing projects that have been time fillers while waiting on my police check for my volunteer work and the beginning of TFE, to which I have a registration date, cost and idea of when classes are. Until next time,
Perry

Movie Review 20.May

Title: Die Hard
Starring: Bruce Willis, Alan Rickman, Reginald Veljohnson
Rating: 3 1/2 terrorist attacks
Review: Again with this Christmas thing? One would think that terrorists plan all their mass attacks around Christmas. -1 for that.
Now, i saw Die Hard a few years ago on TV, and I don’t recall what point I came in at, but it was a good watch then, and I’ve been meaning to watch the whole movie without any commercials in between the good parts. I also remember the original video game in the arcade, which was close to the same thing, but with different plot twists. At the end of the day, it still came to the same thing.
I’ve hardly been a fan of Bruce Willis movies, and I couldn’t name three of them if I tried. But in this movie, one can’t really get enough. He is slowly stripping down over time and he has a pretty mice bod and the type of green eyes I like. Okay, enough of that, but I also enjoied his role in this. He was rather convincing and believable. However, there were a few things he said or did that I didn’t totally follow, and I had to think about it for a while.
Alan Rickman is an actor I find hard to find in a movie, and it wasn’t until I read the credits that I realised it was him at all. He has always been a good bad/undertone character player. Either you know he is evil or you know he is plotting something. But at the end of the day, even he was amusing in this film.
What I didn’t like in this film, as in others, is the following...
* Major characters heal too quickly.
* Professional terrorists/assassins etc cannot shot a target unless it is with a sniper’s riffle or a pot shot with a pistol. Semi=automatics, machine guns, etc, will never hit the target.
* The one thing that will weaken the good guy is always on hand for the bad guys.
Since these things were in this film, I gave it a -1, but I put half back, because at least this time we get to see John (Bruce Willis) tending to his wounds, so at least we know he did something about them, rather than just letting them heal magically/unexplainably.
Looking at it, I probably would go out and by Die Hard on DVD for myself, because it is not too slow to start and you get into the thick of things very quickly.
Now, as you will notice further down, I have watched Die Hard 4. I know that it is not in order, but they refused to give all the Die hard’s numbers, so I didn’t know which was which in what order, and a friend had suggested I watch number 4, so I did. I will endevour to see the others. Having had a look through the Adult fanfiction archives, there is a reoccuring name on the list that means either John gets a partneer or he is the next hottest actor on list. Either way, I wanna find out.

Title: Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark
Starring: Harriosn Ford, Karen Allen, Paul Freeman
Rating: 4 Lost Arks
Review: This movie proves three things. One is that if lost artifacts/their clues aren’t in Venice, they are in Egypt (religion not withstanding), and that there is only one way to do an archiological quest, and that is with the artifact changing hands several times. The last is that if you are travelling with an ancient artifact, for God’s sake, don’t go on a water craft. Both Tomb Raider games and this movie suggest that when (not if) the power of the artifact is left alone, it will activate and either kill everyone and sink the ship or use it’s power to summon the enemy to you. Either way, you’re doomed. Next time Indiana, take the damned thing by plane.
What makes me worried is Hitler’s focus on Holy relics and not a lot else during his campeign. But I haven’t done a lot of research into Hitler’s life in many years, so I couldn’t tell you where he placed his faith, if he did at all.
I did see the end to the film quite some time ago, but it is always good to see the full thing from start to finish, as I keep saying. My viewing of the original Indiana Jones series is now complete. There are two more movies out there to be seen and I am not sure if I want to see them. The Emerald Skull didn’t strike me as that interesting, and ‘Young Indiana Jones’ doesn’t come across as a movie that is going to follow the ‘Indiana Jones’ theme idea, but I haven’t read into it.
What I look for in a movie, this one had, even if some of the old fails that appear in the era of movies still exist. This movie had action, suspence and a little bit of gore to go with it. The only thing I find more fasinating than whatching someone do an archilogical dig with a bit of action thrown in is doing an archiological dig with some action thrown in, hence my love of Tomb Raider and my planning to get Lego Indiana Jones, just to see what it is like. The other thing I enjoied was how organised with backup plans each team was, even if they were making it us they went along. There was always a counter move for a counter move made by the oppossition and it became like a giant chess game.
But there is a point off, and this is mainly due to the major errors that are in the movie, either through consistancy or simple error of human understanding. the one that pissed me off the most was all these bad guys and their army running around dressed heavily in army gear/suits and they don’t seem to be sweating. They are less than a time zone north of the equator and they are not sweating goddammit! Again, wounds seem to miraculously heal, but at least there was a bit if a time lapse before they did. And the last thing to piss me off was when the german soldier found Indiana getting dressed, he didn’t realise that he was an American. Slight error!
Would I put this movie on my shelf? Of all the Indiana Jones movies, it isn’t the most thirlling of stories in comparrison to the other two, as it carries the same genre as a lot of archiological movies. The bad guys never learn to let sleeping dogs lie. When they do, it means no more movies, but hey, you gotta have some realism about all this. So the answer is maybe. I haven’t totally thought it out yet.

Title: Die Hard 4.0 (Also known as Live Free or Die Hard)
Starring: Bruce Willis, Maggie Q, Justin Long, Timothy Olyphant
Rating: 3 1/2 computer hackers
Review: Wow! I know that big things happen at Christmas, but Independance day seems to be a major attraction as well. What ever happened to Easter being a good target for phychotic attacks and electronic espionage?
This movie was advised to me by a friend, and I can see why. It fits in nicely with this era’s genre of films... high speed car chases, women with major attitude problems and good-looking bad guys. I swear if the villains in 2 and 3 are hot I am dedicating a fan fiction to an orgy between the lot of them... but I digress. This film also had the edge of sophistication and callculating that is needed when it comes to dealing with computer hacking. What it didn’t come with was the survival edge that the original Die Hard had, so that is a -1. I prefer my action and horror movies to be survival, and this, while armogedon was suggested, didn’t quite cut it.
Bruce Willis is still cute after all this time, but he seems to have fine-tuned his profanity, which I didn’t really like. But this time he has a tag-along, which I wasn’t sure about. For the most of the movie, I was asking them why he didn’t get a gun at one point or another. He might be a nerd but he can defend himself, surely?
I also took a point off for the same thing that seems to appear in a lot of movies of this sort, and that is the momentary survival of the hero. Once is fine, twice is pushing it, three times is just plain rigging it. At least Bruce came out with the marks to show he had been there. Marks, I might ad, healed over without medical attention, – 1/2. This half also goes for the bad coinsidences that are in the film. Surely ‘Warlock’ would have been found and killed, if Matt Farrell was on the list, surely Warlock was too. Little things like that which seemed to bew over-looked are somewhat annoying.
The best thing about this movie is that it started quickly and kept moving from start to finish, which is better than some movies of it’s type where you need to wonder why they are doing something. While I’m not a nerd, I at least understood the most of what they were saying, and I got the general idea of what the bad guys were up to. It became a bit predictable when the FBI unravelled their plot, and I was close to quoting it.
I did notice one thing though, and I tend to find it a bit stereotypical. It is for the nerd section of my readers, and I just want to see if they agree with me. Do evil nerds get better clothing than average nerds? Surely the average nerd wants to dress like a Star Trek villain in well pressed clothing that is either black or black with red/yellow? But no, your standard nerd (apparently) lives in the basement of his Mother’s home and has more computers than the IT store down the road and collects action figues of the aforementioned Star Trek or Wars. Their hygene also looks somewhat in question, and the laundry probably wasn’t done this side of the financial end of year. Evil nerds, however, get a bonus and a minus. The bonus is they are dressed better and look more hygenically satisfying abd probably get laid more. The down side is that they have fewer computers than the standard USA nerd.
Now, when a film or series I have watched ends in such a dramatic shoot down, missiles launch, destroy target reguardless of human life and tear the city down while you are doing it fight, I have one simple question to ask, that I am sure has crossed people’s mind more than once. WHO THE FUCK IS GOING TO CLEAN THIS MESS UP? Seriously, I want a movie about the clean-up process that is post one of these sorts of movies. That would be funny!

Title: Tron
Starring: Jeff Bridges, Bruce Boxleitner, David Warner, Cindy Morgan
Rating: 3 Memory Discs
Review: I’ve heard about this movie on and off for years since I was just a little boy, and now that I have finally seen it, I have mixed emotions about it. Tron appears as one of the visitable worlds in Kingdom hearts 2, and it displayed the world in a very odd sense, and made Tron look like a simpleton who couldn’t get angry about someone killing his pet dog. The movie portrayed him as a tougher character for the most part. This I liked. It also helped me make sense of a few things about the game.
I already had an average idea of how the world worked, but now I get to see it in a proper light. For an eighties movie, it didn’t do to badly considering that the best vision they could offer of the future back then was shiny furniture and oddly placed fluro lights. But still, the world you are sent to has a lot of rules that, without prior knowledge, you need to pay attention to pick up.
A bit of a jumpy start with a lot of ‘fill in the past quickly’ plot points that require you to remember for future reference, so I took half a point off for that. I also deducted half a point because some of the actors seemed very... I don’t know.... unreal in physical appearance.
There were a few points in the movie with Flynn and either Ram or Tron where I was screaming ‘Oh for heaven’s sakes just kiss already!” because that was certainly the body language being expressed. If they did, I am sure that would have been the very first homosexual cyber sex. Cyber flirting didn’t seem out of the question at any time or any place with the good guys.
The acting was a bit flat, so that dropped off another pont. Tthe last half point got dropped off because towards the end of the film, the rules seemed to change every few minutes. And when all the towers lit up, was that the technical birth of the internet as we know it today? If so, MCP had better be gone. I don’t want him filing through my files and seeing what is in there.
Perhaps not a movie to go onto my shelf, because I juust didn’t hold enough interest to it, but if anyone says “Hey Perry, wanna sit down and watch Tron?” I wouldn’t say no either. But for seeing it for the first time and understanding what the (longstanding) hype is about, I think I understand why. Brings a whole new level to the terms ‘Game play’ and ‘living on/in cyber space.’ And I’m sure the actors do daily comparrisons of the world they acted in and the world today.

This weeks movies have been a pretty good line-up, from the fast and dangerous to the interesting and bizarre. Thanks to Jane and my Sister for their contributions to my list of movies to see, I will endevour to pick them up (perhaps not all at once) for the next week of DVD’s.
I’ve also decided at the end of the month to list all the movies I’ve watched in order from best to worst. Presntly, I think the winner is Indiana Jones and the Last Criusade, but I don’t have my blog open while I’m typing this, I’m copying and pasting it all from Microsoft Word.
At the end of the year, there might be a list of the top ten movies, along with a repeat of their reviews. Who knows? I will also be adding reviews to any movies I go and see in the cinemas, just before anyone asks. Until next time,
Perry

Movie Review 12.May.2010

So I'm bored! I thought with every week of movies I hire I might as well do a review for them and rate them out of five. It will be a score of five items relating to the movie.

Title: Lethal Weapon
Starring: Mel Gibson, Danny Glover
Rating: 2 1/2 bullets
Review: This movie joins the usual theme for this movie era, in that it starts a little way before Christmas and ends with the good guys sharing it together. This theme can be chased through other movie titles such as 'The Long Kiss Goodnight.'
Quite honestly, this movie didn't hold my interest to begin with. I thought it was rather typical of the ages criminal circles, planning something big that will change the world, in this case a large drug shippment. As the story continues, the characters do develop in their own ways, learning from each other to become better people.
The movie picked up with the ransom for the daughter and everything towards the ending. In all honesty, I did enjoy the fight scenes and the jokes that the heroes and villains made at each other. Mind you, Mel Gibson's torture scene was rather painful, but at least original.
At the end of the day, I took points off because it didn't hold my interest from start to finish and that the continuous ongoging Christmas theme was a bit of a let down.

Title: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Starring: Harrison Ford, Sean Connery
Rating: Four Holy Grails
Review: I did see this movie long ago during High School, as it was the movie to study for year 7 English. I did remember quite a bit of it. I thought the movie interesting then, and still do. It is a good look into Indiana's past and how it effects his present.
The search for the Holy Grail is not a new idea, but at least it had some different twists on how to get there. Indiana doesn't strike me as a religious man, but at least he knew enogh to get to the grail. One thing I do want is for Venice to stop being the key to everything. If you tied together every movie, television show and video game that had things hidden in Venice, the whole city would be a sacred burial ground and center of 'How to Start Your Own Archiological Adventure Involving Blood, Guns and Glory."
Aside from that, the chase is pretty interesting, but I do wonder where Indiana keeps getting the whip back from, considering how many times it is taken off him, he drops it, etc. Magic whips. Continuing, Sean Connery plays such a part that is convincing enough that I could reach through the screen and smack him upside the head. Still, he is smart in his own ways.
The truth about cats and dogs is certainly a good saying to go with this film, considering how many people keep jumping the good vs bad guy fence. But still, they all get what they deserve in the end through the power of choice. The ending was rather interesting, considering that there is not one grail but at least fifty and you need to work out which is which.
Enough plot spoiling. I took points of for obvious fallings apart in the plot continuing and continuity (such as the whip). But after that, the movie is certainly one I want to add to my shelves.

Title: Alice in Wonderland
Starring: Robbie Coltrane, Whoopi Goldberg, Ben Kingsley and Tina Majorino as Alice
Rating: Three Grinning Cheshire Cats
Review: I have been searching on and off for a good recounting film of Alice in Wonderland/Alice Through the Looking Glass. While I saw the start of this film years ago, and seems to be the one closest to the book so far, I found it hard to keep up with. What I really want is a good retelling from start to finish, considering that each one seems to have a different introduction and plot point. This one is to help Alice gain her confidence to perform before a party her parents are having.
Moving from character to character, I can only suggest that they are all mad there, which suits me fine. But even I had to draw the line at the point that they all seem to be performers in one way or another, and it was rather redundant by the end of it. The other thing that didn't escape my notice is how blindly homocidal some of the characters are. In short, they tend to kill each other without much thought or care.
I do have to agree that Whoopi Goldberg as the Cheshire Cat was a good choice, as I like Whoopi playing characters that are either guides or advisory rolls. It is also one of her more Zany rolls, as she doesn't tend to hold any sanity or mothod to madness.
Sadly, this movie lost points because towards the end, it did start to drag and display the same point over and over again, but not having read the book (but with intention to) I can't say for sure if it is the major plot point to Alice in Wonderland. I know the moral is that one can change one's personality or approach to life through one's experiences, and that loss of identity can lead to a better self, but the continuous refference point to her singing in public didn't stick. Also that the plot seemed a tad jumpy didn't help it's scoring either.

Title: Aladdin
Starring: Robin Williams, Scott Weinger, Linda Larkin
Rating: Three and a half Gold Lamps
Review: One of the funniest Disney movies made in 1992, I thought I'd rewatch this because of its comedy level. With Robin Williams as Genei and Jafar, the most comic relief (and voted second most popular villain 2004), this movie is always a laugh. With many good lines and good music, Aladdin is definately worth watching.
Jafar's voyage through the movie is definately something to laugh at with such lines as 'Ecstatic' which became quite an icon on the internet since then.

See? Anyway, there are a few down points in this movie. The magor one is that Princess Jasmine thought Aladdin dead, but when she discovers he is alive, she is not happy he is alive nor remorseful that the man she had feelings for him, but is angry. The other problem is that Aladdin, if you check the original text, has two key differences. 1. Aladdin was based in China. 2.Aladdin had infinate wishes, not three.
These were the major removal points for the score.

Well, we will have another movie review next week once I have watched all the movies I hire, whether I enjoy them or not. The number of movies I review will vary deppending on how many parts of Buffy seasons I can hire as well. Cheers,
Perry

Life goes on

I'm sitting here in my usual regale for a Wednesday night, watching Hey Hey. It doesn't have the same appeal now that I have been backstage and seen how it all works. My mind keeps going over a few things, like how I could have quickly snagged an autograph from Daryl, Plucka and Red. However, what's past is past, and I did get to at least meet them (albeit breifly). My ego and reasoning are arguing about being called back for one thing or another. My ego hopes that they might, my reasoning says that they won't, simply because, at the end of the day, I am just another Red Faces act, nothing special. Well, except being Red's favorite Dirty Dancer. Quite the title.
Anyway, I'm writing today asking people if they know a few movies they think I should see. I'm trying to find a few new movies that will interedt me for this weeks upcoming movie hiring, and while I can hire a part of Buffy tVS season two, I want to get a few other things as well. the list presently includes...
*Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark.
*Mrs.Doubtfire
*Tron
*Young Indiana Jones
*The Fifth Element
*Who Am I?
Seriously, help me out here. I want to get some grip on movies, but there doesn't seem to be a lot to get my attention.
The other thing I am looking to do is expand my readership here. My present mental count of people reading is five. Hmm, makes me feel a little lack for attention. Also the lack of comments isn't making me feel any better either. maybe my ego is more infated than I thought. maybe I should try and tone myself down. Mind you, I'm also thinking about a few songs to do at karaoke. I've been taking a few hits on not being serious in my singing. This, as I hope you know, is far from the truth, because there are a number of songs I enjoy singing that are as serious as their title. I'm also getting the feeling that I am going to get yet another going at for not taking up the idea of going into acting. I enjoy the idea of going on stage, but I know my body won't keep up with it.
Well, I have a movie to watch (Leathal Weapon) and a few things to do, so I might as well face the music and deal with them. Hugs,
Perry

Over-social, underpaid

Okay, so I know I asked for it. I asked for a larger and more active social life. I wanted to see friends more often and I wanted to feel like I was apart of something improtant and that I enjoyed. Well, I got it. Now I'm wanting it to slow down again. But it is out of my control, so I might as well make the best of it. Here's an example of the week aheaed.
Tuesday: mum is dropping around for a chat and to pick some things up. Going to a book launch in the evening
Wednesday: Visiting friends in St.Kilda
Thursday: COULD go to DT's but have choosen to give it up to save a few dollars.
Friday: Karaoke, singing lesson
Saturday: Possibly going to a show, depending on cost. DT's afterwards if money stands.
Sunday: Quiet for now, but have the feeling something will crop up.
Monday: Things to do down the road
Tuesday: Dentist
Well, I do have a bit on. I could cancel a lot of this, but I might as well face facts and accept that I want to be out there, so that's life. But looking at it, some of it is rather exciting, like tomorrow's book launch. The book is 'Why vs. Why' and it looks at both sides of the arguement of rights and marriage laws for homosexals from a lot of different ideals and beliefs, as well as standard human rights. I hope to pick up a copy while I am there, because it is a topic close to me.
The show 0on Saturday is by Kaye Sera, and she is one of Melbourne's most renouned Drag Queens, and one of the few that actually sings. I don't know much about the show, but Kaye always puts on a show and is definately worth going to see.
I had my yearly forcast done, and it seems that while things are going to be generally easy, I am looking at a few tough challenges as well. Like when I go back to TAFE in July, I am going to have a bit of a spiritual power down for a few months, and trying to do readings for anybody will be difficult if not beyond me for a while. This happens to the best of us, so I am not surprised. I also have a tedious relationship coming up, as well as financial difficulties to watch over. I have decided to give up going to DT's on Thursdays because it would save me a bit of money, and instead get some DVD's and watch them throughout the week. That will save me a few dollars. I can hear you saying that if I quit smoking I will save even more, and I know that. Especially with the new tax on cigarettes that has just come through. Just let me work on it and don't lecture me.
I am looking at going on a better health plan when it comes to food. No more cutting corners with getting fast junk when I am in a hurry. These places sell fruit so I should buy fruit. While I can sense mum telling me to get off the coke, that ain't gonna happen. A cut down is certainly happening, but not a shut off. This in effect does make goung out hard. Coke, juices and so forth are damaging to my teeth, just drinking water makes me look stingy and cheap, wines all night are too expensive even after watering/sweetening down and then we go into drinks that I don't like (aka beer). Any thoughts? Mineral water was suggested, so I might look into it.
In short, with this windfall of money from Red Faces, I am aiming to start saving some money for myself and be disiplined about it. Basically, if I borrow from it, I have to put it back. I kinda have that system at home right now, so I want to up the anti a little since I will be depositing most of my winnings into a bank account. I owe myself that much.
I also have more dentistry in the next month or two than I could poke a stick at. Mind you, after the last round my teeth look a lot better and whiter and shinnyer. So let's keep at it, despite the fact I look like a drooling idiot on the way home, and cannot hold any liquids in my mouth. But if my mouth is all the better for it, then I will do it.
Well, if anyone has any suggestions I have NOT said so far in my ongoing thought patterns, scattered though they are, I am more than willing to listen. Until then, I think I'll go for a cig and make me a cup of tea. Nite nite,
Pezerry

The Red Faces Aftermath

Well, it is the end of the social week for me and I have to say it has been a big one. I think I'll be locked indoors for most of tomorrow, because the responce to my Red Faces appearance has been overwhelming.
Now, one thing I want to say before anyone tries to bring it up again, I am not going to take this much further at the present point. I am not taking the fotage and handing it out to directors or producers to try and make a singing/acting career out of it. I am simply not interested. I am starting TAFE in a few months and I am not going to be capable of juggling that and acting somewhere, it simply won't happen. So I thank everyone for their support, but I have made up my mind in this respect.
Anyway, sonce Wednesday, my phone has not stopped ringing off the hook. So many people were calling and texting wanting to know what it was like and who I met and so forth. I knew Friday night was going to be big, and it was. Almost everyone there had seen it and loved it, and I had a wonderful time and everyone was so proud of me.
Tonight was not as big, but my friend Jonathan was quite happy to sit and discuss the show with me. I still had a number of congratulations handed to me and our lead Drag Queen, Dulcie Dejour had me on stage to sing a little and offered me a free drink. Not as many people there saw it but it was great to have the friends I did tell say how much they enjoyed it.
Now, at last, I have seen the events of me on stage. I really should try and get rid of my goddamned double-chin, even if the camera adds 10kg/pounds. But I could see a few things that I didn't before, and listened to myself. I'm happy with it. I could also lose a little weight, but for the moment, I am happy. And I have seen all the insults hurled at me that I didn't get to see/read while I was performing. So here it is, for my international friends and for those who want to see it again, Perry Byrnes with All That Jazz. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did,

A Night at Hey Hey

Hey everyone! I am assuming I might have a few more readers before this week is up, now that I have been on National Television here in Australia. Well, befroe I go into what my night was about, I'd like to give a big thank you to all my friends, family and karaoke fans who supported me on the night and before the night and even before the auditions. I'd especially like to thank Roula for coming with me to the auditions and supporting me on that day, I'd like to thank my Aunt Vanessa who supplied me with some last minute make-up (which I didn't use, but still), Krystal who provided me with some of my jewelery, and I'd like to thank the people at Channel Nine for looking after me, especially Jack Storm, the man who has managed Red Faces auditions and shows for the last so many years. I will do a later entry on what people have said on Facebook, my phone and so forth once the hubub settles a little.
Okay, so I knew this was going to be a long evening, and it still is really considering I have a fast dinner in the microwave, but I had decided to rest up and be bright and refreshed for the evenings events. Just as I was getting ready to walk out the door, Roula called me with the news there had been a fire at the studios, and I was almost going insane thinking that I might have to cancel everything. But I was assured the damage was minimal and that we were going ahead as normal after a quick call to Jack.
When I got there, I was really excited to be walking around backstage of Hey Hey. You gotta be on the ball though, because men are running here and there and everywhere to insure the sound is right, the lights are correct and so on. I got to relax in what was a small lounge out of the way while the other performers showed up. All of them were very nice and I will have photos at a later date when they email me.
We had a very fast trial of sound about an hour before the show, and then we were free to look around and get an idea of things, as well as get some food from the canteen (which I did).
When the show started, I was watching it for a little bit, as there was a television in the lounge, and as the time got closer and closer, I got changed and got some photos of myself on my phone, which I will add both to Facebook and this blog.
When the time came close, I was reminded to keep the act alive and going. As many people have told me, I did. I was first up, and while there were three types of insults going around, only one was obvious to me. One was on screen comments which I haven't read yet, comic cartoons (which I got to keep) and verbal comments, which I heard as clear as day. However, the audiance, the laughs, the cheers and all of it kept me going. I could see Red out of the corner of my eye trying to work out whether or not he should gong me, and he was having a hard time. At some point, someone yelled for me to 'take it off,' and when I saw Red going for the gong, I simply thought 'stuff it' and ripped my shirt open.
Now, before anyone else asks, I am letting you know that the amount of contact I had with Darryl on stage was it, but more on that later. I wasn't overly impressed on my score and was sure I'd come third, especially after Red handed me a big fat '0' for all my efforts. Meh to that, I couldn't care less now. When I watched the other perform, I was very happy with them, even Joy who got gonged less than 10 seconds in. I enjoyed the feeling of coming second, and the group that came first deserved it, and I mean it.
After we left the stage, Loy was given a photoshoot with Oliva for promotion, and then she had her photos taken with the winners, and I got her autograph. I was so excited to meet her. But I had such a major leg twitch, which I am sure you can see/had seen while I was on stage.
After the show, I changed and asked if I could get the cartoons of me. I did. I hadn't seen them, nor when they were posted, but the one describbing me as Russel's Brother has been autographed by Russel, so that is going in a frame on my wall, as well as my money envolope. No, the thing was empty, I get the cheque in the mail in about 2 weeks.
I have had such a great time. Thanks to everyone who called, texted or messaged me on facebook. I will definately keep you posted on anything that might come of the show, and where to find stuff on youtube. I might have it posted on my channel, which I will link here, and so forth. I am getting tired, so I might knock this off and call it quits. Thank you everyone,

Hey Hey, Audition Day

My God, it has been a big day, and I am so worn out. For those of you who haven't been kept in the loop, I auditioned for Red Faces on Australia's Hey Hey It's Saturday. Well, today was the big day. I was meeting my friend Krystal down the street so she could give me some over-sized rings to go with my outfit, as over-sized was the look I was aiming at. Two of the rings didn't fit, but I am going to see if I can get one resized to fit. The other I might give away or give back to Krystal and she can get a refund. One ring was of a giant black stone with rainbow stones around it, which I will try and get resized, one was a large blue heart, another was of a silver cobra that I love, and one was a Lord of the Rings style ring with a fake green stone.
Anyway, I got to the studios and met with my friend Roula (you're the best toots) and we joined in the audition line, filing out the paperwork as we went. Well, the acts started, with al the actors and supporters being the audience. There was an offer for someone to go first, but I refused. Never go first, never go last and never volunteer to lead. Well, I ended up going second. Not what I would have liked, but no choice. I got up and performed, and I didn't get buzzed out (gonged) and Roula tells me the man leading the auditions was taking notes furiously while I peformed. So I have a ver good feeling about being on the show at some point. I don't know at the present point if I will be on, but they say that if you are going to be on, you'll get a call in one to two weeks before you are due on the show. So I will be keeping people informed on that fornt.
I know that if I go on the show I need to be strong about the insults that will be thrown at me and what might be said, but hey, I'll have been on national televion and expanded myself a little furter. And I walk awaywith at least $500 if I come third. So wish me luck. Yes, there will be a number of my friends taping it, and I will post it on my youtube and here and so forth, jsut to remember it all, and look at the jokes.
In the meantime, I think I am going to sit here and have an Addams Family TV series marathon. Ciao,
Pez
