The First Storm Eye

Yes, I do deserve some applause. I have managed to weather yet another Christmas, along with all the gift-buying, all the people I have been catching up with and all the events I have been going to if not managing. I am tired, and yet there still seems to be more to do. I don't understand where all these wants and needs come from, but still I am there for those who need me. Even during some of my social events I have been working, and it has pulled up some interesting results, as well as people I need to text and keep contact with.
One person is someone I did a palm reading for, and he was blown away from everything I was able to tell him. We talked in depth about aspects of himself, but my sense tells me that he still has a lot to learn before he is at a higher level. A bit hypocritical, maybe, but at least he ahs a good heart. He just needs to see his potential and what is probably better for him. I'm just going to point him in the right direction, nothing more.
Next person was a very interesting meet. He was telling me about one of the bar staff at DT's and how good he was at a certain type of film (I don't know it's technical term, but think Gumby, Wallice and Gromit, etc) and how this person wasn't venturing further. The conversation turned to what I do with my life, and when I read a part of his palm, he was determined to call me a liar. As I went through the reading piece by piece, I was able to pull him down to earth and shock him into seeing I spoke only truth. He became rather close to me, and there was a connection. I think we would have started kissing on if we weren't interupted. I was invited out, but I declined, but got his number.
From here, I am seeing that my dedication to the Goddess through Litha (Midsummer solstice) that my job has begun, and that all these people who need me are coming out of the woodwork. I am happy to do this, it is what I swore to do and I will keep to it. Work work work it may be, but it will hopefully be rewarding, should the people be willing to change or find the direction their lives need.
Following all of that, I got some wicked gifts for Christmas. It is strange how things work out. I got an Ipod Nano form my Mum and Step Dad, and a gift vouchier I got from my Aunt turned into an Itunes card. I am running out of songs to put on it and the thing isn't even 1/5 full. Probably not even 1/8. I also got a set of scrying crystals. With a gift vouchier I got from my Aunt, Uncle and Cousin, I got down to the bookshop and found a book that explained the basics, as well as a few little magical nic-nacs for my wallet. Can't say what though. Lots of incence (more than I know what to do with really) and I just got a nice dragon box from a friend. Need to replace the name plaque on it and bless it properly, but it will serve well as my spell box, which is what I need. A nice little box to carry my tarot cards, scrying crystals, healing crystals and all my divination tools. Things all fall into place correctly sometimes. I also got some other good books from friends, and a book gift vouchier form my Sister and Family is going towards a series of books I am having trouble collecting, but managed to order a few more in the meantime.
I'd like to say that between now and Friday night is going to be quiet, but it just doesn't seem to be the case. I don't think I will get a lot of peace form here on out, and remind me to be more productive with it if I do. But I don't think I'll be handed more people or things to do than I can handle. But I will certainly be filling in my time if no one else is.
I forgot the best Christmas present of all (or at least one of the best). It was a rare, limited edition Maleficent charm for my necklace. Jane, sweets, you're the best!
Well, I better go now and finish all these mini jobs I've set up for myself, as well as put the leftovers in the fridge and eat dessert. Hope everyone has had a Merry Christmas, a Happy Litha and may there be a prosperous New Calander Year for you!

Movie Review

Title: The Youngest Master
Staring: Jackie Chan
Rating: 3 Kung Fu Dojos
Review: This is aclaimed as one of Jackie Chan’s best movies of all time, and I can kind of see why. The amount of humour, skill and technique that went into making it was certainly a lot of effort, even for an 80’s movie. But I had a lot of problems with this film, despite the good show.
In short, it is about the jopurney of a young Kung Fu warrior seeking his brother to return him to their clan. It follows a disgrace of events that caused one brother to leave. What basically becomes a comedy of errors is the usual story that persistance can overcome even the most skilled of opponents. But I was disappointed with the character developemtn. Jackie Chan’s character goes from a slightly fool-hardy yet serious person to somewhat of an idiot. The character seemed to fall apart, the further along he went. By the end, he seemed somewhat of a clumsy idiot taking on the toughest fighter in all the land. -1 for poor character design.
I won’t deny that the fight scenes were really good. The use of the handfan, the bench and the dress were really interesting. While I am studying the handfan fighting style, I see what it is that I am probably going to be capable of in a couple of years time. On the provision that I am persistant. But the dress fighting style was very amusing, in that it was cleverly portrayed and used properly, not just as a prop that Jackie happened to pick up suddenly, like a lot of weapons in his movies.
At the end of the day, the plot of this movie wasn’t very fluent, nor were many of the connections to how people knew each other, nor how things came to be. Even with pausing the movie to read the subtitles, I still couldn’t make everything total up in my mind. While the blurb sounded interesting when I read it, I think the end result is that the movie is a lot of provado and slapsticks used to pull a plot together quickly. -1.

Title: American Ninja
Staring: Michael Dodikoff, Steve James, Judie Aronson
Rating: 3 Throwing Stars
Review: You know, it is amusing compairing movies of this era. When in America, a fatal sword slash couldn’t draw blood from a giant, but in Japan, a fatal sword slash could draw a river of blood from a moth. Go figure!
Now, I have done a lot of research on the true art of Ninjutsu, and I am still to find a movie that even comes close to the true definition. However, knowing no one is going to make it stand, we’ll overlook that.
Michael Dodikoff plays the American ninja, now American soldier with no memory of his past or how he became such a good fighter. He only has the physical memory. Enlisted to pay for crimes, Joe discovers his work in (supposed) Japan is a lot more than it is cracked up to be. He stumbles inadvertently onto a plot to smuggle weapons to a foreign embacy for their bid for “freedom”. But with every rank above his own in on the plot, he has only himself and a few friends to try and stop this transaction, which ios protected by the deadly nionja Black Star.
Joe is one of those silent types who is more for looks than for conversation, and of all the movie ninja I have seen, he at least has the disipline of one. Doesn’t talk back, takes his punishment and situations with dignity and honor. too bad they can’t make that in a modern movie. And on a personal note, a guy like Joe should walk around, wearing very little and doing as he is told.
I deducted a point because of the continuous need to slap the enemy ninja over the head. Sure, they can play the tricks of the ninja from above, but, like most people, they never look up themselves. One day, they will learn to do this simple movement. But since 30 odd years have passed, I’m not counting on it anytime soon.
Following that is another -1 in the constant need to slap the heroes over the head and ask them if they are blind. Continuously do they walk into the hands of the enemy when it is obviously a trap. I know heroes aren’t supposed to work it out until the end of the movie, but for God’s sake, blind Fred could have seen that coming.
I didn’t deduct points for the appearance of the American ninja’s master. he was working for the enemy until he reveals himself towards the end of the movie. A lot of people would say this sort of reunion is cliche, but it is only because it is parodyed more times than it actually appears in the movie. Nor did I deduct points for the breaking of the laws of physics to make the ninja tricks work. I know how a true ninja did them, and it wasn’t like that, but I don’t expect a movie director to go into these details.
Uf you want a proper account of how a ninja might work, have a read of Ian Fleming’s “You Only Live Twice,” as that has been what is probably the closest written portrayl. Or pick up a copy of “Ninjutsu, the Art of Invisibility”. These have been, so far, the best accounts of ninjutsu I have come across. All other suggestions welcome for review.

Title: Dragon Fist
Staring: Jackie Chan
Rating: 3.5 Kung Fu moves
Review: Picking up a pattrn? Well, if it is any consolation, it is a little bit of research for me as well. This movie, while made in the same time era, had a lot of better things. English dubbing for one thing. A more settled plot for another.
The story is about the honour of Kung Fu clans and living up to your title. While I aon’t totally understand where the title ‘Dragon Fist’ comes in, it may be something lost in translation. But the story was a lot more followable for the most part, but again you need a pen and pad to note the differences between the clans, who is who and so on, but I still had an easier time. Especially when one clan is being eliminated and there are less people to keep track of. And I also found this movie had a higher sense of honor in that the characters (for the most part) were respectful.
-.5 for gaps in the plot... again. there is just a few little things that needed to be added to make the plot run perfectly smoothly from start to finish. It is because I managed to pull all of it together before the end of the plot.
The major fight scene at the end was also a lot more endearing, and I enjoyed watching the fights and the skills used. Elbow Blades were the weapon of choice for this movie versus... wait for it... the walking crotch. A cute fight to be sure.
-.5 was taken away for two reasons in the fighting. The first is because Jackie Chan got stabbed and sliced a number of times. The blood moved too quickly and so did Jackie. The other reason is because against the major opponent, Jackie dropped what had to be the most painful moves, including body slams, genital slams and a lot of head shots, and the bad guy just shook it off and kept going. Na-uh! No! Sorry! no man takes three full force shots from the elbow to the genitals without flinching or needing to nurse them with their hands. Just no!
Finally, a last .5 was taken off because there wasn’t a lot of weapons fighting. This is probably one of the few movies that are basically physical body fighting with not a lot else. The signature of Jackie Chan is to use either common or off-set props to fight, and the end result is a spectacular show. Maybe I am being pushy, but a little bit more weapon play on either Jackie’s front (or anyone’s for that matter) would have been great. No matter, I still enjoied this movie and its fighting styles. Makes you wonder how long it took to film, but the fight scenes are at least a little more realistic.

Title: Minotaur
Staring: Tom Hardy, Tony Todd, Rutger Hauer, Ingrid Pitt
Rating: 1 Mythical Beast
Review: I give up! This is clearly a poor attempt to turn the God of War game series into a film with abour as much success as a snowball rolling across the Sahara Desert. The scenery, the dress sense, the body art and the story line. Even the narrator sounded like the voice actor for Gaia. But then again, maybe I’m just paranoid.
After getting about one hour into the movie, I discovered that all I was in for was a lot of sexual talk and lusting after vagaina. So I decided to switch the movie off and go back to what I was watching originally.
In short, the movie is about an ancient tribe that takes kids off to be sacrificed to the Minotaur for the death of a Prince. This, annoyingly, was not too well explained in the plot. In the previous tri-year a girl was sent, but apparently not sacrificed, and Theo needs to go in and find her while the other seven victims are sacrificed. Horror didn’t really cover the film. B-grade trihardness is where the film belongs.
I decided that I’d just wipe out the points and start climbing. .5 for the cool costumes of the royals/cult leaders/whatever, and .5 for at least trying to be original. I think this film really shouldn’t even be on the shelves, and next time they could at least use the original God of War plot, or something close to it, and do a good job of it.

Putting effort into change

And if I keep telling myself that, I'll be fine. I've had a bit on my mind the past few weeks, and I can't really express it here. It is kind of pissing me off because for once I just want something normal. I know I'm not normal, it doesn't mean I wouldn't shun some normality from time to time.
Well, first off, i have had a lot of anxiety recently, because my doctor reduced one of my meds and while I am not going insane (yet) the need to smoke more and eat chocolate to keep it under control is getting worse over time. I don't like this a lot, but other than that I am coping well. Or well enough.
The next main thing has been getting rady for Christmas. Now, I don't really go for Christmas, I prefer Litha and the celebrations that go with it. I get so bored of Christmas Carrols so quickly, because they are all slow, religious and boring. I would rather hear more up-beat carrols and feel like Christmas was worth a little something. The shopping is done at least and all has been sent or given say for a few things on the couch. Even at my volunteer work, I got shanghaied into doing the Choir for the dementia Christmas party. While I didn't mind eventually, I would have been happier with more upbeat songs, not 'Silent Night' and 'Away in a Manger'. What boring songs, and I don't even believe in them. But the entertainment was well felt and the guitarist was kinda hot. I just wonder if I'll ever see any of the photos. Probably not.
Next thing on my list has been my other blog. I know I started writing them here, but I felt it would be better to post them all in the one place so that way I could explore, refference and link back faster rather than having to search for them all the time. But now that I've started, I have theories pouring out of my head and other people putting them into my lap. I have 3 posted, one to majorly redo and one sitting, waiting on me to type because it is ready to go. But I might hold off on it until I have it drawn out completely. But it is certainly one worth telling. I have been told this will turn into a book, and I hope so. Once I have it put together and have many theorys drawn out, I could probably group them up and make different books out of them. A short series of thought and spirituality. I dunno, it is too soon to call. I just know I have a lot to present into this world, and I hope that I eventually make a difference. And perhaps an interview with Oprah!
Following all that, the complicated men, busy holiday schedule and all that stuff, I have managed to do a few things for myself. I have a large pile of books on order and I can't wait for them to arrive so I can read them. The series has been facinating, and I'd like to pass on a thank you to my Sister, my Xmas gift is paying for some of them. I also got myself two seasons of Blue Heelers for the price of one, so am definately happy with that, and I am simply criusing along at the moment. Tomorrow is a much welcomed day of doing everything I need to around the house with no one to interupt and nothing to worry about outside the house aside form a little shopping to keep myself in food. Then we clean, and wash and dry and iron and sort and tidy and watch a movie or two. The movie reviews won't be stoping, I just need to watch the pile of them and then post them.
Well, I might leave it at that because it is getting on a littlle, but here is the song of the week from Euroquest 2010. Have fun,
Pez!

As Gay as AID's? You're dreaming!

For the people that know me really well, I don't get really pissed off with things in life. I get stressed, i get annoied, but I certainly don't get angry or enraged. But while out with a few friends today, one whom I had just met. He didn't know me at all, not my sexuality, not my occupation, not anything. Now, because it is the last week before Christmas, it is rather difficult to get a parking space anywhere, and he and another one of my friends were shooting their mouths off in frustration about the people driving around. The number of racist comments didn't really get to me, but when my new aquaintance decided that the situation was 'as gay as AID's' I almost lost it in a split second and rammed his head into a window.
I cannot, will not and do not stand for the idea that AID's is a gay-related sickness. It has been proven time and time again that it isn't. the reason AID's is more spread amoungst homosexuals is for two reasons.
1) Men are more suseptable to HIV AID's than women.
2) Homosexuals tend to have more sexually active lifestyles than heterosexual men.
Point number two is a generalisation, not an actuality. But because we have a harder time meeting people who are like-minded, we have a few elected places that are basically a free-for-all brothel, commonly known as Saunas. It is a good place for things like HIV, herpies and other wonderful diseases/infections to spread. This does raise the odds of contracting HIV AID's, unless you use your brain and use the provided condoms there.
Let me make a few simple points.

1)AID's does not target homosexuals, as there is nothing in the human body that protects heterosexuals that homosexuals don't have.
2) AID's was not invented by homosexuals, nor did it come into the world for homosexuals. It originated from the mutation of viruses and germs that became fatal to humans, and nothing more.
3) AID's is a horrid way to die, is most uncomfortable to the person who has it.
4) AID's is not an indication of a persons sexuality
5) Many homosexuals live full lives without contracting AID's/being gay does not automatically give you AID's.
6) The idea that homosexuals spread AID's has some truth, but the blame is often misplaced. (See below).

It is beyond clear to me the ignorance and misguidance of people who believe such things. Anyone who dares say that to my face is asking for a lot of hurt should I lack self control. Especially if I have been previously riled up. You wouldn't say such things if you knew someone with HIV AID's, and you wouldn't dare call them names to their face, would you? I simply cannot stand this sort of ignorance. I don't know if it is from a lack of education, a lack of understanding at all, or simply a want to hurt. But I suppose ignorance is bliss, especially if you haven't seen or experienced it.

Now, this stupid idea that homosexuals are responsible for HIV AID's is absolute bullshit. I want to know where the logic for this came from. I know it was a popular idea between the 60's and 80's, but we now know better. There is no truth to this idea that homosexuals make HIV AID's. Those who are biochemists MIGHT be able to, but it is a rediculous idea that we make a disease to infect ourselves with to cut short our lifespan, lifestyle and tortures us for the rest of our existence. That would be like breaking your own spine to spite your walking. There is little sense in this. If someone can provide me with a logical answer to this question that I couldn't debate my way out of, I'll conceit, but I seriously doubt that it can be presented.
As for this idea that AID's is spread by homosexuals... well, there is a little truth, but it basically again boils down to people's own stupidity and unwillingness to see the fault in their own plans. Many places in the world believe that they can "cure" homosexuality. This is a rare occurance, because you can't change who you are, only disguise it. At the same time, there are those who will act heterosexual to be more accepted. When people like this have the virus, they go out and sleep with women and pass the virus on if they haven't been using safe sex measures. And all of a sudden, whoops, the women have the virus, and they can pass it on too. I know I mentioned that men are more prone to HIV AID's than men, and this is because recently, it has been discovered that estrogen (the female hormone) can block the virus to a very good extent.
The other reason HIV get's around is because of needle sharing. And believe me, you don't need to to homosexual in this situation to have or get the virus. Sharing needles is about as safe as drinking a bowl of e-coli. This level of ignorance and lack of knowledge is definately a major cause of the virus' spread.
So, if you ever catch someone saying how homosexuals are evil because they spread, HIV AID's, pass them onto me and let me teach them a thing or two, or use this knowledge to your advantage because we need to teach the ignorant people some truth. You will find, most often, that their cases for their statements have no basis other than just because they do.' I hope that this has given you some insight as well.

Men and Xmas

Men do stupid things, it is apart of their DNA. And no I don't exclude myself form that list. When men say they will call, I'd like it if they did. If they are going to do something, why can't they? And it is causing me to get uncomfortable, because I am never sure if I have done something wrong or not. I also think that some guys do it to piss me off.
Christmas is pissing me off too. Even when I try and spend less, I somehow end up spending more. Spare me! But what could be worse? I know! Stores not where they are supposed to be, hunting down different things and having to run between three stores to get it and not quite having enough wrapping paper. Blarg!
But what is it you find at malls at this time of year? Yeah, you find Santa (and he is usually in a position where you can sniper him), elves (also near Santa and his vulnerability), more stores selling weird things than you can imagine, lots of fake holy wreaths. lights and tinsel. But you can also expect to find one of these.

So... do you shop here often?
From the bottom of the mall at the other side I could hear the drums and symbols for this demonstration. Following the sound, I found the demonstration of the White Dragon with the drummers walking around and performing tricks. The dragon threw balls to people and threw candy for the viewers. The blinking eyes, wagging tail and moving jaw were really gorgeous, and the performers were really skilled.
Why can't we have more of this for Christmas? Screw the Christmas carols and Santa displays, we should have these sorts of displays everywhere, because it is a much more talented than a man sitting there asking kids what they want for Christmas and saying it'll rock up. I know, Bah Humbug to you too! But come on, what would you rather see, an actor on an over-sized chair or a few dancers performing traditional arts?
Well, now that I have told you about my need to sing dirty Christmas Carols over the top of the ones being played in the mall and hunt the wild Christmas gifts, I'll chat to you soon.
By the way, feel free to check out my newest blog. It is where I'll be posting my theories and viewpoints from now on, as opposed to here.

Theory #3: Candy Store of the Soul

I have a theory. It is based on the evolution of the soul.
Picture in your mind a candy store. Every possible sweet in jars, on trays and in bags. See sweets that you know and love, see the ones you know you don't like, and the ones that you want to try but haven't. Then I want you to see some that are almost unknown. Different on color, shape, design, and don't have a name. All these tasty temptations are in a room as long as you can see, wider than you can imagine and as tall as you can make it, and each isle of sweets is well above your reach to get to the ones on the top.
Now that I have set this image in your mind, I want you to place four people in the store. One is a child, one as a youth in his prime, one is an adult in their 40's and one is an elderly person in their 80's. Imagine how they would react to being in the shop. Clearly the child is going to go galavanting off, wishing to try everything at once, yet not sure what to take first. The youth would probably stick to things they like, while maybe taking a few new things that are closely related. The adult would be a bit more open on the range of choice, taking both things they know they like while trying something new, and the elderly person, with the most experience, knows what they like and what they don't.
Clearly, not everything can be taken at once, as much as the child could wish it. Each person is allowed to take a certain amount. The child can't take too many because if they do, they will make themselves sick. The youth needs to be careful how much they take for they still need to establish good paterns in life. The adult would probably ration while the elder would take a lot of one thing that they like to stock up on, and an een amount of something newer.
These four people in your mind, sweets in hand and paid for, will walk out of the candy store and incarnate into their next lives, each a newborn baby and the sweets they have choosen are the challenges they have choosen to take with them. Effectively, the souls has gone shopping for their experiences. When they leave the next mortal coil, reguardless of its length, they will return to the store, a little wiser for their likes and dislikes, with the possible exception of the elder, who might have tried everything in the store. What happens to them I will get to a bit later.
This demonstration I have put to you is my theory of soul evolution for us as humans, and all other souls who move through a reincarnation cycle, whether they share it with us or not. For humans at least, we have a lot to experience, and some of these things are already beyond our perception, which is represented by the sweets we cannot identify by name or shape or color. There are challenges that have been apart of our existence for a long time, and you might represent these with sweets such as turkish delight or bullseyes. There are modern, here-and-now challenges, and they would be more represented by a bag of starburst jellybeans. Either way, as we select the sweets we take with us, we elect our life challenges, but there is more to it than that. Because there is more to us than simply being born, being challenged and going back to be incarnated again, we must also choose specifically a few other things to come with us. This candy store of souls also holds for us the things we will be interested in, our likes and dislikes, our sexuality, our disorders and our quirks.
I want you to take a pen and pad and write down four groups of three different types of sweets. Either by company name and the type of sweet (eg: Starburst chews), or just the name of the sweet itself (eg: musk sticks). Leave a space next to each item to write more information.
Sweets can be from lollies, to ice-creams to puddings to anything you consider sweet.

*One list of three should be sweets that you love, that you could have right now if you could.
1. Turkish Delight
2. Chilli Chocolate
3. Jelly Belly Jelly Beans
*One list should be three flavors you like in sweets, be it a flavor of chocolate, jelly bean of just a sweet flavor you like.
1. Musk
2. Roasted Marshmellow
3. Cookies and Cream
*One list should be sweets that you don't mind, but do not necessarily buy for yourself.
1. Dark Chocolate
2. Butterscotch
3. Fruitcake
*The final list should be three sweets you do not like.
1. Tiramisu
2. Rice Pudding
3. Black Licorice

From this list, we are going to turn your favorite sweets and flavors into who you are.
*Your favorite sweets are going to be your good qualities.
1. Turkish Delight / Polite
2. Chilli Chocolate / Pazzaz
3. Jelly Belly Jelly Beans / Diversity
*Your favorite flavors are things you enjoy, such as hobbies, interests, occupation. But make sure it is something specific to you.
1. Musk / Spiritual Guiding
2. Roasted Marshmellow / Entertaining Friends
3. Cookies and Cream / Both good and bad humour
*Your next list are things that you have had to accept about yourself.
1. Dark Chocolate / Procrastinator
2. Butterscotch / mental disability
3. Fruitcake / Body image
*The last three are things that we have to or have had to overcome in our lives. looking at them gives us lots to think about, becuase they clearly changed our lives. These things can be both positive or negative, but the point is that they were a challenge, not a breese.
1. Tiramisu / Damage from all my surgerys
2. Rice Pudding / Being ostroscised
3. Black Licorice / Social Awkwardness

these 12 things are things you brought with you from the candy store. Clearly you took a whole lot more than that, right down to the number of strawberry jelly beans. However, this example you have worked demonstrates in a small detail that we have taken a lot of things with us to make us who we are.
The four people running around the store, as mentioned earlier, are souls, each at a different level of age and maturity. Just like physical beings, just over a longer period of time, our souls age and grow wiser. Clearly, our age and experience makes us choose more wisely about what we like, what we don't like and what we should try next in the world. Presenting this as the biggest candy store in the collective imagination is a simple way to present it.
The Child New to the ideas of living and learning, a child wants to try everything without a lot of thoughts to the consciquences. The child is limited on how much they can take form the store because, being so young, they cannot handle all the responsability at once. A young soul has a lot of choice because they haven't tried very many things (if any). they may choose one or two things to take with them from past lives and this may reflect in either interests, goals, beliefs or lifestyles. A few of the things that they will choose, because of their limit in height, will be life challenges which will be represented by things they will either not get from the store on their next visit or willget again to get a taste for. Ultimutely, they take a balanced amount of everything.
These souls are identifyable because they have an easier run in life. They don't face up to a lot from start to finish. Their challenges are very mundane in their creation and finding a conclussion to. This does not suggest they won't have a hard time dealing with it, because they will need to gain the experience of this aspect of living. But in comparrison to the other three souls, their lives are somewhat easier and more carefree.
The Youth Having experienced a few things, the youth as an idea of what they like and what is and isn't good. They can be a bit more choosy on what they take for themselves, but are still unwise as to what works as a combination and what doesn't. In comparrison, it is like serving musk sticks with your tiramisu, it doesn't really work at all. The youth also has more access to some of the sweets on the shelves that were previously beyond their reach because they have experienced enough to be able to take the sweets and learn their tastes in life.
These souls are identified from their level of experience and gain in life. Probably the more successful ranks of the soul when looked at in their lives. They can achieve quite well and deal with their issues, have a well rounded personality, but perhaps fall apart at the seems a little quicker than others. They have built something, but if it is taken form them, it might have them crumple into a being beyond not being able to do much with themselves. So while success is eisier, it is precious and requires a lot of maintaining.
The Adult: Knowledged and wise to the effects of a lot of the sweets in the store, they can choose very carefully as to what they want to do in their next round. they will take the things they like having in life while challenging themselves to newer and tougher things on higher shelves still. These souls may also try some foreign sweets, which incarnate them outside of earth. We cannot learn everything here, and so incarnate in places where they can learn these things.
You can pick these souls from their level of depth and understanding. While they haven't totally grasped the difference between being mortal and being beyond this world, they do seem to understand a lot, either form their own life experience this time or a deeper knowledge. Their lives are with difficulties that a lot of epople cannot comprehend how to deal with, and it is up to the soul to work out how to deal with what they have choosen. However, being able to deal with it makes the soul older and wiser still. Not being able to deal with it means they will prbably buy more from the store until they can swallow and digest it.
Elderly souls: These people have an experience, colectively, that goes beyond the minds and comprehensions of being human. They know a lot about living and coping. They have very few things left to try in the candy store, have found the right combination of sweets that they like and work woell together. Their last visits are the toughest tests of the soul and the mortal mind, and these souls have ladders to reach the sweets on the top shelves.
These souls are simply different form others. they are the toughest, the most knowing and the ones most likely to want to help. Many examples of these are in Doreen Virtues "Realms of the Earth Angels", but even if they are not an earth angel, they are well experienced. While dealing with thier own lives, they can help others with theirs, because they know about their troubles and can answer the call.
Beyond the Store: When we have, finally, tasted every last sweet in the candy store and finished eating them, whcih takes many centuries of our time, we discover that we have the knowledge of life. It doesn't make us perfect, but it is the point in which our souls evolve into the next stage of experience. These experiences are as helpers back to the physical worlds but in spiritual forms. Guides, protectors, warriors and so forth.
In conclussion, the Candy Store is where we choose our experiences. We have our tastes, our prefered combinations of foods and where we are all encouraged to try new things. Every aspect of mortal lving can be made here, and we will need to experience them all in one way or another. As examples...
Fairyfloss: Being homosexual
Black jelly beans: having dark skin
Spearmint: being a warrior
strawberry/blueberry: being fe/male
apple cobbler: living in the country
lemon drops: having mental disability
In these examples, and many many more, we will discover that we have a lot to learn. The things we choose to experience in our lives are for sale at the Candy Store at the beginning of incarnation. The things we don't like we must learn to cope with, and the things we love we have done before, are a part of who we are as continuous incarnations or something we have come to like this time around.
I have a theory. It is about soul evolution as humans.

New Holiday Plans

Okay, so my original plans for the holidays have fallen through a tad. The trip I was hoping for isn't on, but I can take a few other short holidays here and there. geelong (tomorrow), South Australia (specifically Adelaide) and depending on money, I MIGHT be able to swing a few days in Woolengong. Not sure on that front.
But there is a reason for everything and that reason is now clear. Since i am going to have a bit more time on my hands, I'm going to embark on a new quest. Don't ask me what the results are going to be, I don't know either. But I do have some ideas. I'll be keeping notes here on what is happening and my progression. But until I know more specifically, I can't really tell much either. I do know that I have some psychic evolving to do, and that I can really up my gifts and abilities to a higher level in the next two months, so I am really going to focus on that. I am going to read and study and learn more, and remind myself why I do this. I already know why, I blogged it a few weeks ago, but I want to really get a kick into it. I am a practicing psychic, a white witch, often a solo practitioner and a guide to those who need me. I never read a palm or say what is not meant to be heard. Yes, sometimes I am unsure whether or not I am convaying the right message, or withholding information, but I trust that everything I say to someone is meant to be said and even if they take away one thing in that reading, I hope it is what they needed. Yes, I should be charging an arm and a leg for some readings, but I'm not. People pay me usually with a free dirnk (free to me at least) or a cigarette or two. Cheap, perhaps, but I am not running a business at the bar. That's somewhat illegal.
One thing people tell me often enough is that I don't always have faith in my abilities, and that I need to be more confident in what I aod, or else I can't really progress. Sure, I want to progress, and so I need to find within me the realisation of what I need. I know I am spelling out what i need, but it might not be what I am focused on during this time. Here is what my reading said. Yes, I copied it over directly, so please don't ask questions.
"The guidance you are now receiving is truly Universal. Take time daily to connect with your guides and Angels. They wish to connect with you as much as you wish to connect with them. They are working very closely with you and you are being encouraged to journal at th...is time. This is a Great story you are writing. It is your personal story and it is unique to you and only you. Write poetry to express the emotions you are feeling. Write down your dreams and synchronistic events that occur. This card calls for putting your connection and experience with Spirit into writing."
"The third eye rules psychic abilities and clairvoyance. Although every human is born with the ability to see beyond the known, it does not mean they always access it. Your intuitive gifts and abilities are very strong. When this card appears, it is because you are ...ready to move to the next level in the development of your inner seeing. Intuitive development is important for your growth at this time. Expanding your gifts not only benefits you, but also aids those who need the guidance and support you can provide from Source."
There WAS more, but I can't get to it now... dammit! basically, it is a focus on the energies that are spiritual and emotional. Yes, I will be writing a lot down over the next while, just not here. I've decided to take one of the empty books I have and use it for my tarot book, and use another for my notes on my experiences from here on out. I feel I will be tested quite a bit over the next few weeks. With a major ritual coming this Xmas and I can already sense the books on my shelves trying to slide off and tell me they are the ones to be read.
Well, soon I will know where I am headed. In the meantime, I have a trip to geelong to pack for. I better get my rear in gear and go get things organised. Wish me luck in everything,
Perry

Movie Review

Title: 28 Weeks Later
Staring: Robert Carlyle, Rose Byrne, Jeremy Renner, Harold Perrineau
Rating: 3 Code Reds
Review: They never learn. They really never learn. I have been a fan of biotech survival horror long enough to know how to survive. I have played Resident Evil. I have played House of the Dead. I have played Silent Hill. I have seen Silent Hill. I have seen Resident Evil. I have seen House of the Dead. Some people never learn. They all have one thing in common... the major military forces that get wiped out are American, and they seem to go down rather quickly or make blowhard decissions. Like in this movie and the slaughter of innocent people. Or to take an infected (or potentially infected) person into the centre of the quarantine zone. DUH! While it is true that infected targets are harder to pinpoint, it should be noted that dead targets get infected and become rather animated again.
The one thing I noted about this movie that I won’t take points off for is a detail in the ‘Carrier.’ The person who was the centre point of this outbreak. She was a survivor and while attacked, didn’t mutate. So she spent what is an estimated 20 weeks running around and trying to survive. But while running around and encountering and avoiding the undead all of Britan, she kept perfect oral hygeine. Her teeth are still perfectly white. No stains, no discoloration, no nothing. Oops!
Anyway, this is more of a mixed free-for-all of a movie. Three teams: Our heroes and the expendables, the American Troops, the Infected. We know that, one way or the other, the infected are gonna be wiped out, so who will win between the heroes and the American Forces? Hint: One American Force is a hero.
I took a point off for the serious stupidity of the Father at the start of this movie, and because he was stupid enough to go walking into a Quarentine area. Didn’t think to ask permission, didn’t think to find out if she was infected, just walked right in. Thanks to him, this all came to pass.
.5 off because our heroes have the human capability tyo outrun a mass fire bomb. Whatever! None of the innocent people/disposables could do it, why could they?
.5 off for the simple stupidity of death in this film. Everyone drops dead at the drop of a hat. If you want an extreme way to die, just enter the realm that is this film. I’m just bored with it more or less. I give it the remaining points because of how well it is thrown together, the truths about lack of communication, nobility in sacrifice and the foolishness of selfishness (and the American Armed Forces), so lets enjoy random property damage, the half-arsed RE involved and how the involvement of the American Armed Forces can bring on an ‘everyone for themselves’ situation very quickly. If you ask me, the prequal was better, and sequals shouldn’t exist.

Title: Superman: Doomsday
Staring: James marsters (narration/Lex Luthor), Adam Baldwin (Superman/Clark Kent), Anne heche(Lois Lane)
Rating: 3.5 Superman Clones
Review: I’ve never been much of a superman fan. There is just something too... monotonous about a man who can barely die. The stories surrounding Superman can be good, but are mostly science fiction, which can get very tangled unless you follow it right from the start.
I was a tad disappointed to discover this was an animated movie, because the front cover of the DVD suggests it might be appart of the Christopher Reid series, which it isn’t. But the by-line was good enough. It is the death of Superman. And how does one kill Superman? You pit him against a creature that is equally tough and strong and resiliant and hell-bent on wiping out all life. Superman kills the being and gives his own life. Naturally, when he is offically declared dead, the whole opf Matropolis goes on a crime frenzy. But Superman comes back to life. No, not really, it is a clone created by Lex Luthor, who is oddly unhappy with Superman’s death. Some people are never satisfied! -.5
The other thing that really got to me, and it does on such a frequent basis in animated films, is how many innocent bystanders REALLY get killed. You see Superman throwing people, things and himself through buildings with lights on, leading you to assume there are people in there. These buildings usually fall down in a smoking pile of rubble or have gaping holes a few storeys wide. It’s just an observation.
I took the other point off because there was a mass information dump at one point. Lex has Superman’s body taken from the grave and he spends time talking to it. He drops all the information on the audiance (and Superman) and it can e hard to follow. I had to replay the scene to make sure I knew what had happened.
For any Superman fans, no, he lives. But if you want to know how, go rent the movie. I am not going to get myself a copy, but I did enjoy watching it. I might watch it again before I return it.
The one thing I was happy (bot not to surprised about) was Superman ‘dying’ in Lois’ arms. At least it didn’t drag out into a whole Luke Skywalker/Darth Vader scene from the Return of the Jedi. I would have fast-forwarded if it did. It was less than two minutes long from the point you realise Superman ain’t gonna make it. Nice work.

Title: The Secret Garden
Staring: Kate Maberly, Heydon Prowse, Andrew Knott, Maggie Smith, John Lynch
Rating: 3 Garden Keys
Review: I read the book in Primary School, but I don’t remember how it ended, but I remember bits of it. I remember seeing the start of the film, but either I didn’t see it through to the end or I simply don’t remember. The Secret Garden does have a secret, it is called the Climax and Conclussion. Now, with an adult mind and a bit more of an attention span, I can find out once and for all how it concludes. And who better than to have Maggie Smith, one of the best UK actresses to be apart of it. And the knowledge it will be a lot better than “A Little Princess,” which I hated from start to finish. Mind you, I want to see Maggie Smith do something other than act as a strict diciplinarian.
The story started as I recalled, and I picked up on a umber of other hidden elements that I didn’t last time. I thought it was a bit of a sad start, considering that Mary is a bit of a brat. But considering her upbringing, I don’t really blame her. She never had an emotional support, so she lacked any great emotion short of being bossy to her servant. But it annoied me that she became such an icon of wisdom for Colin, so -.5 for that. But as she develops as a character, it was somewhat touching that she learns the things she seems to have otherwise been delayed on.
While watching a lot of the garden scenes, you expect a bit of a seiunce (?spelling) to happen, and it does in dreams, but not the same. It would be interesting to see spirits waltzing around in the dead garden, but that’s just me. What I thought was highly amusing is that two kids can grow a garden IN NEAT ROWS! While I won’t deduct points for that, because it is a slight error, I will deduct a point because some of those animals, declaired orphans, should be dead from starvation. At least that is the way it was displayed.
So what happens when brat meets brat? One has to mature faster than the other, and help the other. But the journey of discovery is a good one and is actually realistic, rather than over-bearing on the mysteries of life. Even the lead villain (even though she isn’t) reacts as people of the time did. It was all they knew. Mind you, it was amusing watching her stumble around in her ignorance at the end, and be happy that Colin had developed.
There is still a -.5 for me to call. That is because trees don’t grow that quickly. In other words, I don’t care if the secret of the garden is advanced phytogenis mitosis, trees don’t grow that quickly.
No, not a film for my shelf, but at least one that I can say I have watched and enjoied. Remind me to buy it for Xmas for any bratty kids. I don’t know any at the moment, but luck and chance are the enemies of such things.

Title: House
Staring: Michael Madsen, Reynaldo Rosales, Heidi Dippold
Rating: 4 Wooden Masks
Review: I know I have been going in for the Horror thing recently, but I decided just to choose a random letter and find a movie from within that section of the DVD shelf. I need one of those letter dice, It would make selecting DVD’s a lot easier.
Anyway, survival horror section: Religion, Psycho, Supernatural. Four people find themselves stranded at a very fancy hotel in the middle of nowhere, Alabama. As the night progresses, it is obvious that darkness rules the house and that the people running the place know more than they are letting on. But when it is clear that the Tin Man is coming to play, it is a free-for-all in order to survive. And the rules are simple. If you are a sinner, you are going to be targeted and killed. If you can present another dead sinner before daylight, all others will be freed. Another religious push in the direction of the Bible, so on and so forth. I do understand that it makes it easier to build a plot quickly because people catch on faster, but it would be nice, just for once, to see a movie with a supernatural theme without the Christian background. -.5
As our heroes and victims run aorund the house and the passages beneath, you discover that each of them is indeed guilty of something. Each has a sin to answer for and each must face the fear that comes with that sin in order to survive. Odds are, anyone in this house has something big to deal with. But at the same time, Tin Man turns fear into a means of bending you to his will to get his own way, as we find out in the end. But without revealing too much, the end got a bit predictable on how to defeat the bad guys. After all, the onlyescape from Sin is Forgiveness, and our heroes need to find forgiveness in order to escape. By the way, as a spoiler that you would see coming anyway, her name is Susan. -.5 for being to obvious.
I think I would buy this film for myself, as it is a good movie and keeps you on the edge of your seat because there comes certain times where you just don’t know who is on whos side anymore, or if they have a side all to themselves. Certainly good for a night in... if you’re game.
Top Ten Listing Number: 7

Title: The Blind Swordsman: Zatoichi
Staring: Tadanobu Asano, Michiyo Okusu, Yui Natsukawa
Rating: 3.5 Sword Canes
Review: Unable to find the movie form the Action shelf I wanted, I decided to go looking in the alphabetically distant part of the action shelf. I recalled the name Zatoichi being dropped a while ago as a refference to a character from a game. Now I have some refference for the characters Sho and Nasu (Tenchu 4).
Anyway, when I started watching the movie, I discovered quickly that it is an old school Japanese film that had English dubbing. It is easy to tell form the mouth movements (or lack thereof) and the style of recording. But I won’t knock points off, because between that and pausing the movie all the tiome to read the subtitles, I’d rather have dubbing.
Zatoichi, the blind swordsman who is disguised as a massuse, travels the Japanese countryside helping people who are in need. Usually taking out Yakuza and the like because he feels it is his duty. But this film gave us some extra characters at the beginning and you really have no idea who is on who’s side to start. Are the Geisha assassins good or bad? Is the samurai saving up money for his sick wife good, evil or simply a sheep?
As the story progresses slowly, you shouldn’t expect too much action all the time. But you will find that there are a lot of amusing points throughout tyhe film, such as the madman who wants to be a samurai and the gambling man who can’t call a dice roll if his life depended on it. But the plot is somewhat slow, in that you need to pay close attention to the details and try to hold onto names. If you don’t have some education in speaking Japanese, it might become hard, even if you took notes. A lot of characters are introduced very quickly and if you can’t keep up, you need to wait until the enjd to find out who is who and where they fit in the overall plot. -.5.
The other thing about this movie I find so odd is the simplicity of dropping a man with a sword. The cuts that are made to them don’t appear to be that dep, yet it is still enough to kill them. I understand that this age had two types of warriors: bravado and samurai, but either way, it should take a little more than some minor cuts to kill someone. Yes, some of them do take some pretty good whacks and dices to their torso’s, which would definately kill, but most of them don’t.
What I found interesting about this film, if not different, is the psychology that is in play. I can’t say too much because I’d spoil too much plot, but if you really want to get into someone’s head, know how to play both ends of your spectrum. Zatoichi does it, as does our would-be noble samurai.
There is still 1 to remove, and that is basically the minor cultural errors that keep rocking up. You’d think japan would know better of its own history. There was a world of difference between a geisha and a prostitute, a world of difference between samurai and yakuza and it was next to unheard of for a geisha to dance without a prop at some point. But with a rating of 3.5, I might get this film for my shelf.
I have this real want to watch Lone Wolf and Cub now. go Babycart!

It is done!

Today was the last day. I have finished my classes for my Certificate 4, I ahve finished them all. I am glad to say I only missed one class due to illness and the worst time being late was less than five minutes. I have passed all my assignments (except perhaps one, but it was submitted today) and I have a long list of contacts. But what I am facing is how I feel about this. I don't know how I feel though. I have to work out how to live within a new level of life. I still have my volunteer work two days a week and I can try and take up some of my other activities, and there is a few other things I can do with my time, like take up Tai Chi again. I had to cancel because my classes were on Thursdays, and by the time I got out of class and to the dojo, they'd be closed. I hope I can take up my classes again. I need a bit more practice. I can also TRY and take up mu singing lessons again, but no guarantee. This will set me back a bit ($72+$60=$132 per fortnight). Might have to wait until I am back on my payments from studying. Speaking of which, I am back in TAFE for my Diploma in early February, not March. So for now, I have 2 months and one week to relax, deal with Christmas and celebrate my birthday. Go me!
Until then, I have a few things I can do to fill in my time. Got a trip to Geelong next week which I am looking forward to, and all the Christmas things I need to do. I'll work it out. My graduation ceremony is sometime next year (don't ask, don't know why) and I have a long list of people to invite. I hope they can all make it. In the meantime, I might go sleep, or read, or something. I dunno,
